Map Services

Visual Crossing Map Services was designed from the ground up to support the demands for mapping in Business Intelligence Applications.

The Spatial Server is the heart of the visualization architecture which provides enterprise user and data scalability for efficient visualization analysis. It is the core of the enterprise delivering map content to both web and mobile platforms.

Visual Crossing’s MicroStrategy Integration is the industry’s best map to BI integration. BI users are unaware they are utilizing a separate tool while the additional functionality allows them do a level analysis not available in BI.

The Spatial Architect Suite offers the ability to leverage the geographic aspect of your data by processing the data so it may be displayed on a map. By utilizing your current BI infrastructure it is the ultimate spatial ETL tool.

Mobile

The mobile platform offers 2 powerful solutions: BI dashboard integration and a stand-alone analytics app that rivals our web product. The mobile platform is highly tuned for doing GIS analytics in the field. Whether you are doing current GPS search locations or analyzing maps offline, the Visual Crossing Mobile solutions offer unprecedented analysis capabilities.

Visual Crossing Mobile is based upon a flexible and rich architecture that provides critical BI data layered onto Visual Crossing’s powerful app for mobile devices. When connected to a network it can take full advantage of the Visual Crossing Spatial Server. While in off-line mode it can use cached data and client-side logic to power fully disconnected analysis. The Visual Crossing Mobile client offers far more than a traditional dashboard map control, by providing a level of analysis not previously seen on a mobile device.

Delivering big data to mobile devices has always proven to be challenging and adding geographic point and polygon data to your solution makes it even more challenging. With Visual Crossing our client-server, cache-based architecture takes care of this for you. Visual Crossing includes a middle-tier Map Server that is an analogue of many BI Servers.

Some of the key features include:

  • A Metadata Server that centrally manages shared map objects (such as layers and map definitions) allowing users to collaborate and share maps and formatting across both Web and Mobile platforms.
  • Tools to produce geographically generalized data for a lightweight, fast delivery to mobile clients.
  • A client side Layer Server to handle retrieving spatial data from mapping servers such as Google, Bing, ESRI, and WMS.
  • Collaborative rendering and analysis, which shares the workload between the mobile device and a powerful enterprise server, creates a powerful platform that is tailored to provide the most powerful analysis even on limited devices.
  • Multi-level caching system to provide optimal response time for large datasets (hundreds of thousands of points or polygons) and enterprise-level throughput.
  • Support for various client map services to maintain consistency across devices.

Cloud

Visual Crossing has embraced Cloud deployment with Visual Crossing Cloud Express. You know that Cloud deployments can be fast, powerful, and scalable, but they can also be secure and cost effective, too. Visual Crossing Cloud Express can get your mapping project running in the Cloud in just a few short days.
